The Family
A vibrant family with a history tracing back to the end of 17th century as per Kodagu land records. Our complete family fought against Tippu Sultan at Devatti Parambu near Aiyengeri on August 1789 and sacrificed their lives in the massive massacre, wherein only one couple managed to escape and our family survived. They came upto Ballamavati and prayed at Makki Shashtavu temple, Napoklu for the succession of the family. Our family succession began with the the immense blessings from Makki Sashtavu.
That’s how our first ancestors POONACHA and CHENNACHA settled in Ballamavati, Napoklu Naad from the neighbouring Sanna- pulikotu. Built an eleven room MUNDMANE at Ballamavati. From then on with the blessings of our GURU KARONA, the family has grown leaps and bounds.

Multifaceted Family
Today we are 180 plus strong with members of our vakka making their presence felt in almost all walks of life. Born warriors, many have served in the Indian Defence Force, with A B SUBBAIAH and A S BHEEMAIAH having fought for the Allies in Africa, Egypt and North Eastern frontier in the Second World War during the fag end of the British rule in India. Legacy has continued till date.
We are proud with us to have Bureaucrats, Government employees, Educationalists, Police personnel, Doctors, Engineers, Sports personalities, Lawyers, Politicians, Progressive farmers, Businessmen, Writers, Actors etc.
